Transform your Furniture with Chalk Finish Paint

Have you always wanted to learn to update your furniture but aren’t sure where to start? Do you want to refresh that bedside table, chair or mirror that you’ve had for ages or perhaps update a family heirloom and fall in love with it again?

Reuse and upcycling are important elements in the fight to preserve our environment, and this class will show you how to renovate furniture items to give them a future purpose.

This is a hands-on workshop, and with a maximum of 5 in the class there will be plenty of chances to ask questions, try things out and be creative. No experience is necessary.

What will I learn?
In this workshop (5.5 – 6 hours duration) you will learn to prepare, paint and finish your piece with eco-friendly chalk paint and sealing products. We will cover what to look out for when reviving old furniture, how to choose the style and colour for your piece and how to paint to a beautiful finish without brush marks and drips. Once you have a few basic furniture painting skills under your belt you will have the confidence to tackle your upcycling projects at home and save those old treasures from landfill.

What will be provided?
Your choice of eco-friendly Artisan chalk finish paint, waxes and finishes, and all other materials and tools that you require to complete your project.

What will I take home?
You will take home your painted and sealed piece of furniture along with detailed workshop notes.

What to Bring

All you need bring is a small piece of furniture such as a bedside table, chair, mirror, side table or stool. Make sure it is sturdy and wipe it down if it’s very dirty. You will do the other preparation to your piece at the beginning of the workshop. Once you have booked your place you will be provided with notes guiding you on what will be suitable to bring. There is also a charge of $20 payable to the tutor on the day for materials.
Please wear old clothes just in case they get paint on them and closed-toe shoes.

About the Tutor
