Mandarin Travellers Stage 2

Course Outline:

Designed for students wanting to further their skills in Mandarin after completing the Mandarin Travellers Stage 1. The course is built on basic knowledge of the language and has been structured to improve your confidence in writing and speaking Mandarin. Culture, conversation and grammar will be covered in a social and stimulating environment.

Students will also expand their ability to deal with everyday situations such as talking about family, sport, holidays and much more. This course also will place more of an emphasis on pronunciation and intonation and will assist the student in making their trip to China, be it for work or leisure purposes, much more engaging and exciting.

  • Easy Steps to CHINESE ( SIMPLIFIED CHARACTERS VERSION) by Yamin Ma and Xinying Li. There are two books one is TEXTBOOK and another is WORKBOOK. They are published by BEIJING LANGUAGE AND UNIVERSITY. The students will be able to purchase on line for example Bookdepository, Amazon or from Abbey Book Store in the city. Ordering on line is much cheaper than from Abbey's.
  • Notepad and pen

About the Tutor:

Linda Bennett:

Linda is a native Mandarin speaker with 20+ years of experience teaching both in classroom and individuals. One of Linda’s students who is two-time winner of the NSW heats of the Chinese Bridge competition, a four months scholarship to a Chinese University, and 3nd placed when representing Australia in the worldwide finals in 2012.

 Linda joined Northern Beaches & Mosman College in 2012 as a Mandarin tutor. She’s motived by the passion and interest to teach individuals achieve success in their Mandarin learning.  As Mandarin is a tonal language, Linda has helped the students to learn the language by creating fun, enjoyable and simple comprehensive method to understand.
