French Intermediate Stage 2

Course Outline:

Nicole's Class:

This course is a continuation of Nicole Laugier’s previous Intermediate Stage 2 class. Students are familiar with the main tenses (Présent, Futur Proche, Futur Simple, Passé Composé et Imparfait). General grammar points (reflexive verbs, pronoms toniques, pronoms personnels , expressions de temps, négations ..) have been addressed in this course.

You will continue to build up all aspects of the language in a step by step manner along with constant revisions throughout the Term. Revisions are the key. Also, students will be encouraged to participate in class and should be able to connect phrases in a simple way on familiar topics and short social exchanges. Active participation is required. Homework will be assigned.

Dominiques class:

This course is designed for students who have previously studied the French language at intermediate’s level.

Over this term, we will read and discuss French topical subjects from texts of various sources including from the book Read & Think French; watch and discuss videos; grammar will focus on the conditional and the use of relative pronouns. We will also do some dictations. Culture, conversation as well as grammar will be covered in a social and stimulating environment. The course is interactive and aims to develop speaking, writing, reading and listening skills. Homework is essential for the successful completion of the course. About The Tutor

Nicole Laugier:

Nicole Laugier is a French national who grew up and was educated in France. Nicole has been a private tutor for the past 20 years mainly in Australia and Asia. She has also taught as a primary school teacher in New Caledonia (1986-1988). Nicole has taught at Mosman Community College for many years where she enjoys sharing the different aspects of the French language and the different facets of the French culture. Nicole is accredited by the French Alliance (DA)

Dominique Partridge:

Dominique Partridge is an experienced tutor and has been tutoring at Mosman Evening College and now at Northern Beaches & Mosman College. She grew up in the countryside of France and has worked in Paris and London before moving to Australia. Dominique's experience in teaching and her in-depth knowledge of both, the French and English language, ensures her classes are of high standard. She uses up-to-date teaching methods and her classes are fun and stimulating!
