After Effects CC Introduction

Course Outline

Adobe After Effects is a video editing tool for motion graphics, text animation and visual effects (VFX). It is used in the post-production process of film making, video games and television production. It is used by animators, video editors and visual effects artists.

This course is an introduction to basic skills for motion graphics and compositions.

In this course you will learn the following:

  • Get to know the interface
  • Open, close and save files
  • Import media
  • Compositing
  • Organise folders
  • How to use layers
  • Animate an object on a path
  • Create & animate text
  • Keyframe(s)
  • Effects & Presets
  • Create visual effects
  • Render a composition with Render queue

Prerequisites

  • Good PC or Mac skills – this course is conducted on Windows PCs
  • Have a basic understanding of Photoshop or Illustrator, though extremely high level of general computer skills will suffice

What to bring

  • Notepad and pen
  • 2 x USB drives (no less than 32GB)
  • Notes & handouts will be provided
