Continuing Professional Development Day 2019 for Early Childhood Education & Care - Complimentary

Each year the college provides a complimentary continuing professional development event for all Early Childhood Teachers and Educators located on the Northern Beaches, Mosman and North Shore areas. We are now in our third year with over 50 participants attending the event each year. This year the college is delighted to provide an interactive and informative program with a focus on Holistic Play, School Readiness and Team Building date is scheduled for Saturday 31 August 2019 and will be delivered from the Narrabeen Campus.

Completing Continuing Professional Development Day for Early Childhood Education & Care will contribute 4 hours and 0 minutes of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 6.2.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Topic 1: Holistic Play in Early Childhood

Delivered by NBMC trainers – Nicky Kilner, Michelle Tasker and Charlotte Silva

This workshop will introduce educators in an interactive and fun way to learn about holistic development in all age groups. Engage with STEM, loose parts, natural and recyclable materials while learning how these meet the National Quality Framework

Topic 2: Team building

Delivered by NBMC trainer – Matt Tanks

Matt will engage educators in an interactive session on team building. It will encourage, inspire and motive educators to grow their awareness and skills in working as a team in this fun workshop.

Topic 3: Set for success – School Readiness

Delivered by guest speakers – Angela and Donna from Back on Track Consultancy

Angela and Donna will engage educators in an informative session around school readiness in Early Childhood.

Topic 4: Using Essential Oils in Early Childhood

Delivered by guest speaker – James Bornen – Industry Expert

James will introduce you to the use of essential oils in early childhood. You will discover how essential oils will help assist different areas of development and connections to the National Quality Framework.

Program Schedule:

On the day participants will be split into two groups where each session will be seen once per group eg. Group 1 will see Topic 1 at 9.30am and Topic 2 at 10.40am, Group 2 will see Topic 2 at 9.30am and Topic 1 at 10.40am.

9.00am – Tea / Coffee / Registration
9.30am – Topic 1 and 2
10.40am – Topic 1 and 2
11.45am – Morning tea break (provided - vegetarian and gluten free options will be made available)
12.10 – Topic 3 and 4
1.15pm Lunch (provided - vegetarian and gluten free options will be made available)
1.50pm – Topic 3 and 4
3.00pm – Close, certificates distributed

Please note only 6 participants per childcare centre.
