Pottery on the Wheel overview

Learn the fun techniques of shaping clay on the wheel or freehand. Students will learn how to create bowls, vessels, mugs and other useful items. Each student will have their own wheel and will be learning in a friendly and relaxed environment. Glaze and firing costs are included in the course fee. This course is suitable for art teachers who are seeking professional development, HSC students who wish to enhance their major works, Fine Art Students who are considering a career as a potter or complete beginners.

  • Old towel
  • Covered Footwear
  • $35 for clay payable to trainer to cover the cost for 8 weeks.

Please Note: There is a limit of 9 students, so please book in quickly to avoid disappointment.

 

About the Tutor:

Sally Howe

Sally has been a ceramic artist, teacher and maker for many years and says that making things with clay has been a long and abiding passion for her. These days she continues to make and exhibit both sculptural and functional pieces…
She has a Fine Arts degree from Sydney Uni and Fine Arts and Ceramic certificates from TAFE.

Students will learn how to create bowls, vessels, mugs and other useful items. Decorative techniques will also be demonstrated.

    This course is delivered once a week over a period of 8 weeks.
