Nature Journaling - Extension

The extension course is the continuation on from the Introduction course – Nature Journaling is the practice of using pictures, words & numbers in a sketchbook/journal to record your own observations of nature. No drawing or painting experience is necessary & the skills learnt in these sessions will allow you to develop your own unique nature journal using pencils, pens & watercolour. This enjoyable & relaxing practice will help you focus & connect more closely with nature while ‘drawing to learn rather than ‘learning to draw’.

What to bring

Students will be able to purchase a Nature Journaling Starter Pack from the tutor for $10 (cash) at the first session. This will contain a sketchbook, graphite pencil, kneadable eraser, biro & waterbrush.

If students own any other art supplies (a sketchbook, graphite &/or coloured pencils, pens, watercolour paints etc) please bring them along.

About the Trainer

Wendy Orchard is an experienced art trainer with a special focus on art journaling, nature sketching, and creative wellness practices. Drawing on over 40 years in education and a personal passion for the arts, she guides individuals in using visual journals as a tool for reflection, mindfulness, and self-expression. Her workshops often blend travel sketching, watercolor, and ink illustration, encouraging participants to connect with nature and their inner narratives through creativity.
