This course is designed for students who have completed over 2 years of studies. Students have a sound knowledge of the main tenses (présent, futur proche, passé composé, imparfait and an understanding of conditionnel) and have a reasonable level of vocabulary. The course is divided into 2 parts: grammar and conversation as practice makes it perfect! Students will be encouraged to talk and should be able to enter unprepared into conversation on different topics that are familiar (everyday life, current events, travel …). Mistakes will be pointed out and based on that, grammar will be reinforced. Active participation is required. Homework will be assigned.

Olivia de Bergerac was born on the French Riviera, lived in Paris and started teaching French to businesspeople while completing a PhD in French Literature and Psychology. In Australia, Olivia taught at the University of Sydney while completing an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management before becoming a management consultant specialised in stress management. Today, Olivia teaches French in Neuroscience, Dolphin Therapy, Longevity and Life and Death. She also writes books (in French and English). For Olivia the key is to transform all fears, fear of learning French, fear of getting old and fear of death into love of learning.
In this class, we will continue to build up all aspects of the language (grammar, reading and writing) in a step by step manner along with constant revisions throughout the Term. This course helps you to actively begin building up confidence to express yourself in French.
This Term, we will learn: the “discours indirect” at the present and past tense / the expression of the “condition, opposition, concession” (+ subjonctif) / and general revisions.
This course is delivered once a week over a period of 8 weeks.
