French Intermediate Stage 1

This course is designed for students with prior knowledge of the French language at French lower intermediate level B1.1 level on the CEFR scale. Students will continue to build and strengthen listening comprehension, speaking, writing and reading skills – all in a social and interactive environment. This course is recommended for those who are familiar with the use of verbs conjugated in the present, past perfect, future, imperfect and imperative tenses. In addition to the recommended books, extra material will be provided. Active participation and homework are essential to benefit fully from this course.

Dominique Partridge:

Dominique is a passionate tutor with extensive experience. Born and raised in the French countryside, she brings a rich cultural perspective shaped by her professional experiences in Paris and London before settling in Australia. Dominique holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in French language and Linguistics, complemented by years of expertise in translation and language tuition. Her in-depth knowledge of both, the French and English languages, ensures her classes are engaging and of the highest standard. Dominique creates a fun and stimulating learning environment that motivates and inspires her students. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your language skills, Dominique’s classes offer a unique blend of cultural insights, practical language use, and enjoyable learning activities.

This course is delivered once a week over a period of 8 weeks.

In this course, we will continue to build up all aspects of the language in a step by step manner along with constant revisions throughout the Term. Revisions are the key.

Zoom is easy to use video conferencing software with a simple set up. You will be able to see your trainer and classmates and interact as though you were in the same room, all from the comfort of your own home!

This is what you need to join the Zoom class:

• Access to a computer, iPad/tablet or smartphone; and
• A webcam* so that you can be seen by the trainer; and
• A microphone* so that you can participate in the class and be heard by the trainer; and
• A good Internet connection.

*If you have a laptop computer a webcam and microphone is usually built into the top of the screen frame. Smartphones and iPad/tablets also contain cameras and microphones.
