In today’s digital world, cyber threats are constantly evolving. Whether you’re a small business owner managing sensitive data or a student navigating online platforms, understanding cyber security is essential. This short course provides practical skills to identify risks, protect personal and business information, and respond to cyber threats effectively.
Who Should Attend?
Small Business Owners – Learn how to safeguard customer data, secure business accounts, and prevent cyber-attacks that could impact your operations.
Students – Develop safe online habits, protect personal information, and avoid cyber scams while using digital platforms for study and social interaction.
Pre-requisite Confident user of Windows PC based computers.
As part of this course you will be completing the accredited unit Protect own personal online profile from cyber security threats (BSBXC301)
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to protect own personal online profile from cyber security threats, and to limit the potential impact of online security breaches. It applies to those working in a broad range of industries and job roles under some supervision and guidance, who protect their own online profile so that it is cyber secure.
On successful completion of the assessment tasks associated with this unit, a Statement of Attainment will be issued.
From 1 January 2015 it is a requirement of the Federal Government that all students undertaking nationally recognised training will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This involves an easy online application. See USI Fact Sheet for information on how to apply for a USI go to the Unique Student Identifier (USI) Website for additional information.
Please ensure when completing your enrolment information, that the details relating to your name are identical to those on the identification evidence used (eg passport or driver’s licence) when creating your USI eg no abbreviations or nicknames should be used.
Once created, it is important that you keep a record of your USI and access to your accredited training records in a safe place. You will need this information for any future enrolments into accredited training in Australia.
This course will run over two sessions.
This course may be fully funded for many Australian citizens; permanent residents; New Zealand citizens and Humanitarian Visa Holders under the NSW Government’s Adult & Community Education or Targeted Skills for Small Business funding.
