  • Cupcake Decorating Workshop Overview

    Find out the secrets behind sculpting fondant and basic piping in this hands-on cupcake decorating course. In this cupcake decorating course, you will explore simple decorating techniques to make beautiful cupcakes that are easy to do at home. You will also find out some creative tips for how to achieve a professional finish using low-cost tools and equipment that are easy to find in most kitchens. By the end of this course, you will have 6 decorated cupcakes in various differing styles to take home.

    This course is for beginners, and more experienced cooks who want to learn cake decorating skills.

    About the Trainer

    Amber Subaki is an artist, illustrator and cake decorator. With over 10 years of experience working in the disability sector, including 5 years teaching art, Amber has a nurturing and inclusive teaching style. She has a Diploma of Fine Arts from TAFE and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UNSW. Amber’s passion for cake decorating began 12 years ago when she became a mother. As an artist working in the fine detail of ink illustration, cake decorating was a natural transition to a fun hobby and side business.

  • Learning Outcomes

    Following this cupcake decorating course, you should be able to:

    •             Cut and sculpt fondant flowers and foliage

    •             Create a fondant rose

    •             Create a basic piped buttercream swirl

    •             Finish a smooth fondant cupcake top

    •             Make fondant leaves chocolate “soil” and other edible effects

    What will be covered in this cupcake decorating course?

    •             Introduction to rolled fondant and buttercream frosting

    •             Creating sculpted fondant flowers, leaves and other simple cake toppers

    •             Basic swirl piping

    •             How to create various character-themed and traditional cupcake decorations

    •             Finishing and presenting 6 cupcakes to take home

     

    About the Tutor
