Create and Publish a Canva Website

Create and publish a simple one-page website in Canva, ideal when you need more space than a social post but don’t want to build or update a full website.  In this hands-on class, we’ll plan and build a single-page website in Canva and publish it using Canva’s own web address.

This could work well for your business if you want to:

• promote an event, webinar, workshop or special offer
• create a simple landing page for one particular service or promotion
• share more information than comfortably fits in a social media post
• put information online yourself when updating your main website is difficult or handled by someone else
• create a simple page with your business details, links, images and key information

Outside business, you could use the same approach to:

• share information about a party or community event
• create an information page for attendees
• share schedules, locations, instructions, links or updates in one place
• create a page that can be shared by link or QR code

In this class you will:

• plan the content and structure of a one-page site
• create and format the page in Canva
• add text, images, links and buttons
• check how the page works across different screen sizes
• preview and test your site
• publish it using Canva’s own website address
• learn how to return to Canva later to update or add information

What to bring

If you have a particular page you’d like to create, bring the information with you so you can spend the class building rather than searching for content.

Depending on your project, this might include:

• event name, date, location and start/finish times
• information or instructions for attendees
• business copy you already use on your website or in other marketing
• logo, photos or graphics
• contact details and social media links
• links you want visitors to click
• any other information you want included on the page

You don’t need to have a specific project in mind. You can also come along to learn the process and create a practice page.

Please note

This class focuses on simple informational one-page websites.  We will not cover custom domain names, online stores, payments, forms, mailing-list integrations or other advanced website functions.

You should already feel comfortable using Canva to create and edit basic designs.

Everything in this class can be completed using Canva Free.

• Must be familiar with using Canva at a basic level and confident computer user
• Canva Pro not required
• Bring your own device – tablet or laptop (no smartphones). If bringing an iPad as your device, please make sure to bring an Apple pencil or equivalent accessory for an Android tablet to class with you.
