  • AI Powered Marketing for Small Business Overview

    This practical 12-hour short course is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, small business owners, and business start-ups who want to market their products and services more effectively using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

    Participants will learn how to combine proven marketing principles with modern AI tools to develop marketing strategies, create compelling content, identify target audiences, generate promotional materials, and improve customer engagement. Through hands-on activities, learners will explore how AI can assist with social media marketing, content creation, market research, campaign planning, and marketing automation while maintaining authenticity and brand voice.

    The course is aligned with the outcomes of BSBESB404 – Market New Business Ventures and provides participants with practical skills they can immediately apply to their own business or business idea.

    Key Learning Outcomes

    • Identify and analyse target markets using AI-assisted research.
    • Develop marketing objectives and strategies for a new business venture.
    • Create marketing content using AI tools.
    • Build a social media and content marketing plan.
    • Use AI to generate images, promotional copy, and campaign ideas.
    • Evaluate marketing performance and refine campaigns using AI insights.
    • Understand ethical, responsible, and effective use of AI in marketing.

    Participants will leave the course with a draft marketing plan, AI-generated marketing assets, and a practical workbook of AI resources to support future business growth.

    What you need to know about this course

    • The course is delivered using a blended learning model which includes face to face Zoom sessions and weekly flexible directed self study hours.
    • Students will need to allow some additional hours between sessions for directed self study and/or the completion of learning and assessment tasks.
    • The course is delivered by our qualified and industry experienced trainer/assessor.
    • One unit of competency is delivered during this course (see above).
    • The resources for this course will be delivered via our NBMC learning management system, CANVAS. Training to use CANVAS will be provided at the beginning of the course. Once access to the course resources is provided, students can either print them and bring them along to class, or access them electronically via their personal laptop. Students enrolling must have access to the following:
      • A laptop / computer
      • The internet
      • A scanner, or a scanner app downloaded on their smart phone

    Are there Assessments?

    • Competency based assessment of each unit of competency in the course will be conducted through a mix of assessment methods which may include short answer questions, case studies and theory tasks.
    • You will receive clear assessment instructions and an opportunity will be provided for resubmission of assessments if required.

  • Entry Requirements

    • A telephone or personal meeting may be required with our Training Coordinator who will provide course information and answer your questions to ensure this is the right course for you before you enrol.
    • Unique Student Identifier (see information below).
    • Enrolling students may be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Quiz and/or Digital Skills Questionnaire to confirm suitability for the course and identify any support needs. If you have not previously completed an AQF Certificate III or higher in Australia, an NBMC LLN Quiz may be required. For short courses involving electronic resources or digital participation, you may also need to complete the Digital Skills Questionnaire.

    Students enrolling must have access to the following:

    • A scanner, or a scanner app downloaded on their smart phone

     

  • Accreditation & Award

    Assessments are made against units of competency.

    As part of this course you will be completing the accredited units:

    On successful completion of the assessment tasks associated with this unit, a Statement of Attainment will be issued.

    The units studied may contribute towards a full Cert IV qualification in Entrepreneurship and New Business (BSB40320).

     

  • Unique Student Identifier

    From 1 January 2015 it is a requirement of the Federal Government that all students undertaking nationally recognised training will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This involves an easy online application. See USI Fact Sheet for information on how to apply for a USI go to the Unique Student Identifier (USI) Website for additional information.

    Please ensure when completing your enrolment information, that the details relating to your name are identical to those on the identification evidence (eg passport or driver’s licence) used when creating your USI, eg no abbreviations or nicknames should be used. Once created, it is important that you keep a record of your USI and access to your accredited training records in a safe place.   • Virtual Classroom

    Microsoft Teams is an easy-to-use video conferencing and collaboration platform with a simple setup. You’ll be able to see your trainer and classmates and interact just as you would in a face-to-face classroom, all from the comfort of your own home.

    To join a Microsoft Teams classroom, you will need:

    • A basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Teams.
    • Access to a computer, iPad/tablet, or smartphone; and
    • A webcam* so your trainer can see you; and
    • A microphone* so you can participate in discussions; and
    • A reliable internet connection.

    *Most laptops come with built-in webcams and microphones. Smartphones and tablets also include cameras and microphones. A tablet or smartphone is only suitable for viewing Teams meetings, a computer is required to access resources and submit assessments in our Learning Management System.

  • Pathway to Further Training

    This short course provides a pathway to completing BSB40320 Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship & New Business.
