Course Outline

Mat Pilates is a whole body conditioning workout. Classes focus on improving strength, stability, mobility and flexibility. A great way to lengthen, strengthen and tone the body from the inside out. Classes are suitable for all levels, with a special focus on technique to ensure a safe and effective workout. Small props are often used to assist, challenge and add variety. Classes are designed to constantly evolve, so no two are ever the same. Please bring a mat and towel.

About the Tutors

Christine Ritchie
Chris has more than 25 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry and a passion for exercise, travel, good health and wellness.

In 1993 Chris swapped her late nights in the Advertising industry for early mornings in the Fitness industry. She found it to be a seamless transition as she was truly passionate about her new career. More than 25 years on, she is still excited to be able to combine her active lifestyle with her ‘job’ and is very proud to have helped hundreds and hundreds of people commit to workout schedules that assist them in sustaining healthy lifestyles.

Fully trained in the STOTT method of Studio Pilates and Yogalates™ and a certified Personal Training Exercise Specialist, Chris offers individual and high quality Studio Pilates sessions in her studio on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. She also designs and delivers health and wellness exercise programs for the corporate sector in Sydney, and also hosts active-lifestyle wellness retreats locally and overseas.

As a partner in her other business, Travel Architects Chris is thrilled to collaborate with SwellWomen in the journey of empowering women to find their bliss and be brave through learn to Surf and Yoga Wellness retreats in exotic locations that include Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Hawaii. Uncoil Pilates and Health Solutions was established by Sydneysider Christine Ritchie. Chris has more than 25 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry and a passion for exercise, travel, good health and wellness.

Joyce Subloo
Joyce Subloo is a Certificate IV qualified Pilates Instructor and draws on 35 years experience as a gym goer, and later Instructor. With her training and experience, Joyce is able to offer exercises to suit all levels of ability in each class. She currently teaches classes to students ranging from the ages of 13 to 80 years of age, and a variety of physical ability.
