French Intermediate Stage 4 Conversation

Course Outline:

Using your previously acquired knowledge of the French language which should include the Present tense, the Past tense (passé composé, imparfait) and the Futur tense (futur proche, futur simple) of verbs, this course helps you to actively begin building up confidence to express yourself in French. You will interact with others in the group on topics that span the arts, culture, current affairs, food and more. Vocabulary and grammar stemming from the activities is discussed and practised.

Virtual Classroom

Zoom is easy to use video conferencing software with a simple set up. You will be able to see your trainer and classmates and interact as though you were in the same room, all from the comfort of your own home!

This is what you need to join the Zoom class:

  • Understanding the basics of using Zoom – see our free Zoom tutorial by clicking here.
  • Access to a computer, iPad/tablet or smartphone; and
  • A webcam* so that you can be seen by the trainer; and
  • A microphone* so that you can participate in the class and be heard by the trainer; and
  • A good Internet connection.

*If you have a laptop computer a webcam and microphone is usually built into the top of the screen frame. Smartphones and iPad/tablets also contain cameras and microphones.

About The Tutor:

Kathleen Beaubois, a native French speaker with a bilingual heritage (French/English), has been teaching French at all levels on a part-time basis at Mosman Community College and elsewhere for more than 15 years. Kathleen has acquired a wide range of teaching experience working with adults of different ages in either large or small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Feedback from her learners points to Kathleen having a patient and caring teaching style which makes language learning enjoyable within a relaxed but studious atmosphere. Kathleen holds a BA Modern Languages from Macquarie University with majors in Linguistics and French, as well as a teaching qualification from the University of New South Wales Institute of Languages - LOTE French.
