French Beginners Stage 4 (Nicole Laugier)

Course Outline:

For students who have previously studied the French language at beginners level over 3 or 4 previous terms.. Students are familiar with the main tenses (présent, futur proche, passé composé and imparfait). General grammar points (reflexive verbs, pronoms toniques, expressions de temps, negations, comparative structure) have been addressed. In this course, we will continue to build up all aspects of the language in a step by step manner along with constant revisions throughout the Term. Revisions are the key. Also, students will be encouraged to participate in class and should be able to connect phrases in a simple way on familiar topics and short social exchanges. Active participation is required. Homework will be assigned.

  • The course was well paced and each student received good attention. Presenter/Lecturer was very good.
  • Nicole was friendly and lots of fun. We had a great group of students and I felt challenged.
  • A wonderful term’s instruction in French by Nicole. She is a most encouraging and supportive teacher and creates a collegial class environment where we are all encouraged to contribute to conversations in French and to further our acquaintance with French grammar.
  • Nicole is very engaging and she is always moving us forward Good revision but most of all that it is a small class so you receive the attention that you need
  • The classes are relaxed yet structured, we gradually build on what we have learned and our facilitator is fun. I have now done 3 terms of French with Nicole and my confidence in speaking French has increased enormously.
