Smart Phone Video for Your Small Business

This is a hands-on and practical course where we help your harness the power of video to promote and grow your business. Suitable for all small business owners or sole traders. Discover what videos work best to engage customers and how to create compelling and valuable content that they will want to watch. Learn about the different platforms for publishing your video and how it’s not a one-size- fits-all approach. Get practical skills on how to use smart phones to create your videos including tips and tricks for shooting, lighting, audio and basic editing software. Plus become confident at putting yourself on camera as the face of your business. Please note we will not be going into details on how to edit.

Course Outline

Introduction to Video
The myths, realities and power of video marketing. Different platforms and what videos work best.
Planning your Video
What you need your video to do, identifying your audience and the types of video you should make. Brainstorming video ideas for your business. Planning and scripting your message. Preparing to shoot.
Smart phone Production.
How to shoot, light and record to make your video more professional. Presenting and filming yourself. Tips on what editing software to use.
Publish & Promote
Different formats for different platforms. Amplification tactics and how to promote your video. Choosing between organic reach or paid promotions. Measuring success and revise and repeat.

What to Bring

All attendees should have a website or social media account (s) on Facebook, Instagram and You Tube or both.
Please bring your smartphone (ideally an iPhone, but androids and older version iPhones also welcome) and chargers and power cables.

About the Tutor

Amy is a video maker and principal of Itchy Feet Digital, an agency specialising in video creation and digital smarts. She has helped hundreds of clients from big brand names to small startups you’ve not (yet) heard of, to create successful video strategies and campaigns to achieve their business goals. Amy’s extensive background in television and video means she brings a wealth of experience in storytelling and publishing, but practical and technical skills and insights into video making with smartphones.
