Paper Yarn Jewellery

Course Outline

Learn how to recycle paper to transform it into colorful and resistant paper yarn that you can use creatively for eco-friendly unique pieces of art (jewelry, knitted or crochet items, house decorations etc.) The project for this workshop will be a paper necklace entirely made of paper yarn.
Numerous ideas and alternative projects will be suggested during the workshop.

What to bring

*Tissue paper/or catalogues/or newspaper (no glossy paper magazines)

  • paper glue
  • 1 little brush
  • a piece of cardboard or a cutting mat
  • scissors
  • a marker or a pen and ruler
  • a wool knitting needle
  • a crochet hook
  • a hand top-spindle (ideal, but not essential)

About the Tutor

Rosa Santi is originally from Amalfi Coast in Italy, where, among the natural beauties and artistic sites, they have preserved in the centuries old tradition to produce a very fine kind of paper made from fabric.
This inspired her to study and research creative ways to recycle paper. She is going to share with you new techniques to see at paper destined to waste as an incredible resource.
