Mahjong - Beginners - Morning Session
A game of strategy, probability and luck, originating from China 1,000 years ago. Not only is Mahjong fun, playing regularly can improve your memory. In fact studies have shown that Mahjong and Tai Chi can keep elderly minds sharp and showed evidence of long term benefits. In a paper published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, the Hong Kong Institute of Education researchers suggest integrating mah-jong into regularly schedules activities can halt or slow down cognitive decline. Beginners learn the rules and strategies. After learning the Eastern and Western Hands, (which usually takes 2 terms) join us for Mahjong – Social to improve your skills. Coffee, tea and cafe menu available at the Club. Fee includes all equipment, use of Mahjong tables and Mahjong Tiles.
About the Tutor
Ron is an experienced Mahjong player and has been teaching Mahjong for more than 10 years.
Besides teaching Mahjong, he also teaches Mandarin, Cantonese and Mathematics in other Community Colleges. He is a devoted teacher who has the passion to impart his knowledge and skills to you. You will enjoy the game for many years to come.
