Introduction to Home and Community Care for Job Seekers

This course is funded by the NSW government for students who live in NSW and are currently receiving the Job Seeker benefit. Evidence of the benefit is required.

How will I Learn?

The course comprises two classroom based sessions per week over 3 weeks and additional self study hours.

Course entry requirements

There are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course.

Are there Assessments?

Competency based assessment will be conducted through theory tasks, projects and practical demonstration. You will be required to complete self study and assessment work in your own time. There is usually a short answer question and small project associated with each unit of competency. Some units of competency require training and assessment of practical skills.

Pathway to Further Training

This course is designed as an introduction to CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, which may provide a pathway to Certificate IV in Ageing Support, the Diploma of Leisure & Health or Diploma of Nursing.

On successful completion of this short course, if you choose to enrol in CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, you will receive credit for the three units completed.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

From 1 January 2015 it is a requirement of the Federal Government that all students undertaking nationally recognised training will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This involves an easy online application. Please ensure when completing your enrolment information, that the details relating to your name are identical to those on the identification evidence used (eg passport or driver’s licence) when creating your USI eg no abbreviations or nicknames should be used. Once created, it is important that you keep a record of your USI and access to your accredited training records in a safe place. You will need this information for any future enrolments into accredited training in Australia.

Course cost

There is no cost for this course as it is fully subsidised by the NSW government under the ACE funding program.
