French Conversation - Lower Intermediate (Kathleen Beaubois)
Course Outline:
This course aims to help you actively begin building up confidence to express yourself in French. Using your previously acquired knowledge of the French language which should include the Present tense, the Past tenses (passé composé, imparfait) and the Future tenses (futur proche, futur simple) of verbs, you will interact with the tutor and others in a mixed abilities group, both spontaneously and through non-competitive activities. Topics discussed span current affairs, culture, the arts, food and more. New vocabulary stemming from discussions is explored and later revisited. Also, although not the main focus of the course, periodic revision of grammar is included.

About the Tutor:
Kathleen Beaubois, a native French speaker with a bilingual heritage (French/English), has been teaching French at all levels on a part-time basis at Mosman Community College and elsewhere for more than 15 years. Kathleen has acquired a wide range of teaching experience working with adults of different ages in either large or small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Feedback from her learners points to Kathleen having a patient and caring teaching style which makes language learning enjoyable within a relaxed but studious atmosphere. Kathleen holds a BA Modern Languages from Macquarie University with majors in Linguistics and French, as well as a teaching qualification from the University of New South Wales Institute of Languages - LOTE French.
