Excel 2019 VBA
Course Outline
With Microsoft’s VBA programming language you can take your Microsoft Excel powers to the next level. Learn how to program Excel to automate complicated or repetitive worksheet operations at the touch of a button. This two-day advanced course will take you beyond simple recorded macros to being able to write your own VBA code in Excel. As well as learning to work with the VBA editor and Excel Object model, you will learn a range of programming techniques enabling you to automate processes and add rich functionality to your spreadsheets with your own user-defined functions and macros. At the completion of this course you should be able to:
- understand the Excel object model and VBA concepts
- work effectively with the main features of the VBA Editor window
- create procedures in VBA
- create and use variables
- create and work with user-defined functions in VBA
- write code to manipulate Excel objects
- use a range of common programming techniques
- create a custom form complete with an assortment of controls
- create code to drive a user form
- create procedures that start automatically
- write a variety of error handling routines
Prerequisites
This course is intended for confident Microsoft Excel users who wish to learn how to automate repetitive/difficult processes by developing programs in VBA. Ideally attendees should have done at least an Intermediate Excel course or have equivalent skills.
- You should have confident keyboarding skills and Excel Advanced course or equivalent skills and knowledge.
- Students must have Excel 2016/2019 or Office 365 installed on their computers.
