Botanical Art at Mackie Lane Community Garden

Mosman Community Gardeners is a community group committed to working together to create food gardens around Mosman to demonstrate promote, educate and advocate environmental sustainability through growing food locally. This art class offers an insight into the different ways of approaching a botanical painting, starting with black and white studies in pencil and moving onto watercolour to capture the beauty of plants. Mackie Lane Community Garden is bursting with flower, vegetables and ornamentals giving the artist a rich variety of patterns to work with.
Suitable for all levels.

A4 or larger sketchbook
2B pencil eraser

Other materials: Paints, brushes, watercolour paper for the class can be purchased from the tutor for $20.00 on request after second class

About the Tutor

Penny Walton is an experienced illustrator who has worked for publishers in both Sydney and London. She takes most of her inspiration from the bush environment around her home in the Hunter Valley.
