About the Tutor

My name is Mark Pawlyszyn and I photographed my first wedding back in 2003. In 2007 I went full-time pro. Photography combines several loves of mine: happy people, creativity, travel, and pushing my comfort zone.

As a formerly shy person I can relate to people who feel awkward in front of the camera and I really enjoy creating an atmosphere where people can relax. It’s my goal that your photography is transparent, in the sense that your attention is totally on interacting with a subject and enjoying yourself and not about being in front of a camera. In our website galleries you’ll see a lot of people laughing and acting completely natural, even during the posed portraits.

I love nature and this inspires a lot of my work. You’ll see several images in our galleries that show off the beauty of nature.

Horn tooting time! My images have won awards from Fearless Photographers, WPPI, ISPWP, PPA, WPJA, Wedcomp, and several of my photos were used in the book ‘Wedding Photography: A Guide To Posing’, including the cover image.

I love spending my spare time with family and friends, playing board games, making music, hiking, reading, sailing, and performing stand-up comedy. In addition, I’ve taught private workshops in Canada and Australia and was a speaker at the 2011 and 2014 Foundation Conferences.
